Galway celebrate Under 21 decider Two goals in the opening twenty-one minutes rocked Cavan to their foundations despite a fine start by the Breffni men. They took the lead on three occasions with points from Niall Smith, Barry Reilly and Fergal Flanagan, but the Tribesmen had firepower in Joss Moore, Danny Cummins and Mark Hehir.
In a space of seven minutes Galway hit 2-5 without reply with goals from Patrick Sweeney and Eric Monaghan after midfielder Tomas Flynn had twice hit the woodwork. Cavan full forward Niall McDermot ran into a Cul de sac as he tried to salvage a goal before half time, and at the interval Galway led 2-10 to 0-5.
The Tribesmen started the second half firing on all cylinders but after Cavans Niall McDermott was taken down, Barry Reilly failed to beat the Galway goalkeeper Manus Breathnach, after the latter pulled off a fine safe.
When the Breffni side did find the net it was substitute Conor McClarey who supplied the consolation score before Cadburys hero of the future Mark Hehir found the winning-point. http://gaa.mobilerider.com/flash/player/index.php?vendor_id=976&video_id=42956&ignore_popup=1
